E! Terrell Great American Songbook tonight
The E! Terrell performance series hosts another performance tonight, Matt Davenport's Great American Songbook.
The company produces shows and attractions for various touring acts. This one looks very similar in scope to last years "Red Hot Hollywood."
Here are a couple of photos from that show at the TISD Performing Arts Center.
At $50 per season ticket ($10 for students), the seven shows are quite a bargain for the entertainment value.
The show starts at 7:30.

Making A Difference
The stormy weather did not keep Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office personnel from enjoying another chance to connect with members of the community during the annual Scarecrow Festival, held Saturday in Kaufman.
KSO personnel tried to use this festival every year to interact with members of the community and educate the public about steps they can take to stay safe and healthy.
This year’s booth was manned by Sgt. Broocke Hammer, Sgt. Deonna Kirkpatrick, Sgt. Ella Pierce and Lt. Bruce January.
A pamphlet explaining drug safety education was provided by the National Drug & Safety League, Stranger Danger coloring books, Frisbees, pencil bags with pencils, as well as Senior Safe Information were among the items provided. Employees also distributed an informational guide on domestic violence and sexual assault.
Continuing with the motto: Together we can make a difference,” KSO personnel look forward to seeing each of you next year.
Have You Voted Yet?
Today kicks off the final week of early voting prior to the Nov. 2 General Election.
According to Kaufman County Voter Registrar Dick Murphy, more and more people every year are taking advantage of the opportunity to vote early in elections. With a gubernatorial election topping this November's ballot, it seems this election season is drawing some early interest as well.
Through the end of the day Saturday, more than 4,400 people had voted early for the election. Of those numbers, 1,427 ballots were cast in Forney, 1,173 in Kaufman, 473 in Kemp, 1,160 in Terrell and 159 in Crandall/Combine.
If you haven't cast your ballot yet, you can do so Monday through Friday at the county subcourthouses.

Stuck on the Tracks
Traffic was tied up on the west side of Terrell for a while this afternoon after an Eddie Deen's catering van veered off of Highway 80 and became stuck on the railroad tracks. According to a company representative, the driver of the van was not injured.
An oncoming train stopped before hitting the van. The train blocked F.M. 148 until the van was removed around 3 p.m.
Don't Forget: Thursday Night Lights!
The Terrell Tigers get an early kickoff this week, facing West Mesquite at Mesquite's Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m. tonight. Read a preview of the game in this week's edition of The Terrell Tribune.

Fighting Tiger Band scores...
The Terrell Fighting Tiger Band travelled to Mesquite yesterday for UIL marching contest. Earlier in the year band director Tom Kuhn said that this year's James Bond themed show was something fun for the band to do in a non-state year for 4A bands.
While it may be fun, apparently it is also good ... the band earned "1" ratings for their performance.
Tonight they will be back at Mesquite Memorial Stadium as the Tigers take on West Mesquite.

And we're back...
Power restored, back to normal without even time for a nap.
Power outage
The power is out at the Tribune, giving us time to reflect on our technology dependence. What did we ever do before our cell phones doubled as flashlights and web surfing machines?
Hopefully we will be back up and running soon... until then, thanks for your patience.
