The way basketball goes..

Wednesday's overtime basketball matchup between the Terrell and the Paris was certainly an exciting one for fans, but as it turns out, the Lady Tigers had it won in regulation.

The official scorebook shows the Lady Tigers outscoring Paris 17-5 in the final quarter, more than erasing the 33-43 deficit from the end of the third. However, the scoreboard still showed the teams tied at 48.

While the Paris Lady Cats outscored Terrell 7-6 in the extra period, the mistake had been corrected and the final 56-55 win for the Lady Tigers was in the books.

With the mistake corrected, there is no problem, but it is rare to see a box score where the team who scored the most in overtime loses the game.

Terrell wins tournament opener

The Tigers came out fast and never let up, outgunning Adamson 88-36. A short game summary and slideshow are up on the Tribune sports section...

Saturday is set to be festive from start to finish. The annual Christmas parade will kick things off in the morning, and day's grand finale will be a 7:30 p.m. performance by the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and Chorus at the TISD Performing Arts Center in the evening.

"There is no way to duplicate teh incredible live sound of a full 100-piece symphony," said E! Terrell board member Dana Skelton, who previewed the show at the Meyerson Symphony Hall in Dallas this week. "It is such a busy time of year, with so many things to do, but I can say that this will be remembered as one of the very best E! Terrell performances we have had, and we have had some great ones."

According to Skelton, the night will have entertainment for the whole family.

"It is a great concert for kids too," he said. "They will play Bach, Bizet and Tchaikovsky, but they will also play John Williams, Polar Express, Christmas carols and a great sing-along too."

Contact and ticket information is available at www.eterrell.org.
