Early Voting Results

Kaufman County's election department has released totals from early voting. Results are below:

U.S. Rep., District 5
Jeb Hensarling, Rep - 6,890 votes (75.51 percent)
Tom Berry, Dem - 2,087 votes (22.87 percent)
Ken Ashby, Lib - 148 votes (1.62 percent)

Texas Senate, District 2
Bob Deuell, Rep - 6,822 votes (75.07 percent)
Kathleen Shaw, Dem - 2,266 votes (24.93 percent)

County Clerk
Laura Hughes, Rep - 7,075 votes (76.9 percent)
Sophia Clemon, Dem - 2,125 (23.1 percent)

JP Precinct 1
Eric Williams, Rep - 1,179 votes (58.86 percent)
Johnny Perry, Dem - 824 votes (41.14 percent)

And, if you're wondering, Rick Perry (R) is leading Bill White (D) 66.12 percent to 31.29 percent in the governor's race.
