• Salvation Army members and volunteers are kicking off the annual Angel Tree drive, an effort that each year matches the Christmas wishes of children with those that want to bring joy to the season for others. Anyone interested in adopting an “angel” should contact The Salvation Army at 972-962-1345. The office wants the gifts back for distribution by Dec. 14 or 15.
Gift distribution will be held on Dec. 18-19.
• Terrell authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a pair of suspects believed to be involved in a purse-snatching incident at First United Methodist Church. According to Terrell Police Department Capt. Arley Sansom, around 11:50 a.m. Nov. 18, two female suspects entered the church, located at 503 W. College St. in Terrell, and stole the contents of a number of purses left in the classroom. Check out Thursday's edition of The Tribune for the story.
• Letters to Santa for the Tribune’s special Santa section are due Dec. 10. The letters may be brought to The Tribune office at 150 Ninth Street, mailed to The Terrell Tribune, P.O. Box 669, Terrell, TX 75160 or emailed to news@terrelltribune.com.
• “It’s a Wonderful Life in Kaufman” Christmas Festival will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 4 with The Santa Stroll, a 5K fun run. The daylong event continues with more activities beginning at noon with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage on the square. • “Sincerely Elvis” performed by James Wages will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3 at the Crandall High School Cafetorium. Adult tickets are $10 and student tickets are $5. The fundraiser is sponsored by Parents and Friends of Crandall FFA to help purchase the FFA/4H students animals at the Kaufman County Fair.
