• A "Taste of Terrell" event is in the works for later this month. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Terrell ISD Excellence Foundation.
• Speaking of Terrell ISD, they received their TEA accountability rating on Friday, which showed progress over a year ago. However, it should be noted that most schools showed progress this year due to changes in the way the ratings were established.

• State Sen. Bob Deuell wants Planned Parenthood clinics out of the state's Women's Health Program, which provides family planning services - but not abortions - to impoverished Medicaid patients.
