Marijuana - Busts and Subsidies?

Local police have been making a lot of drug busts lately here, here, here, making for lots of interesting anonymous commenters on the Tribune online stories.

Because of that, this story from Washington D.C. caught my eye... "No one should be too poor to buy pot if they live in Washington..."

What most was at the end of the story - a quote from a medical marijuana user who said "People under the poverty level and below shouldn't have to pay anything." Which means taxpayers subsidize it.

While drug policies will not be sorted out any time soon, the debate is interesting to watch.
