Morning Update (11/27/10)

• The Terrell Rotary Club will celebrate its 90th anniversary this week. That's a lot of decades of "service before self" as their motto goes.

• Van Zandt County authorities have issued an alert seeking the public's assistance in finding a missing 77-year-old Wills Point man who has Alzheimer’s disease. Kenneth Atchley was last seen Nov. 24 in Wills Point wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. He has gray hair, blue eyes and is about 6 feet tall and 185 pounds. He may be driving a black 1989 Toyota pickup with license plate number 77HLS5. The truck has a dent on the passenger’s side door. If you have information about his whereabouts, please call Wills Point police at 903-873-2588.

• Authorities have busted a drug ring believed to responsible for peddling ecstasy pills to area high school students. Find out who and where in Sunday's edition of The Terrell Tribune.

• First Baptist Church is seeking to compile a list of military personnel serving our country from Terrell. The church would like to support these men and women. To add the name of someone who is personally serving in the military, please e-mail their name and military address to: trooptreaters@gmail.com.

• If you're still keeping up with Terrell's District 15-4A peers in the high school playoffs, West Mesquite fell to Wylie, 38-30, on Friday. QB Trevone Boykin put on another show, though, throwing for 242 yards and a pair of scores while rushing for 193 yards and two TDs. Mesquite Poteet faces Highland Park at 7 p.m. tonight at Cowboys Stadium.
