Students at Herman Furlough Jr. Middle School have been working to provide a memorial in Mr. Furlough's honor for more than two years, and today they finished the project. Money was collected and used to purchase a large Chinese Elm tree that was planted in a prominent place at the entry to the campus in a ceremony this morning.
The campus will host a memorial program honoring Furlough Friday morning, 9:15 a.m. in the school gym. The public is invited to attend and urged to arrive early to check in through the school office.
