Scouring through the season stats for the Terrell High School and Class 4A
basketball teams revealed several interesting nuggets of information.
Terrell is the one of the two schools in the Dallas Metroplex to have a boy and a girl
in the top 11 in scoring among 4A schools.
Jherrod Stiggers is 5th in area 4A hoopsters with 18.5 pts/game. That also leads
District 15. Stiggers is fresh off a 28 point outing in Friday night's 55-54 loss at Waxahachie.
The University of Houston signee has 69 treys on the season for the majority of his points.
Tonisha Dean is averaging 14.6 pts/game on the season. That is 11th in area 4A players
and second in District 15. Mesquite Poteet's Shanovia Gamblin leads the
district in scoring 16.3 pts/game.
Dean only has four threes on the season but you would be hard pressed to find a more
improtant one than the one on Friday. The overtime trey put Terrell up 55-50 with under
two minutes left in overtime.
Gamblin has had over 50 combined points in the two meeting with Terrell this season.
This includes a 32 point outing Nov. 23 in the Lady Pirate victory at TISD Athletic Complex.
