Watching yesterday's coverage of the conference championship games made you wonder if anyone realized the Super Bowl is actually in Arlington.
Everyone from players to coaches to some media types is under the impression the Super Bowl is in Dallas. They are wrong.
Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin is very good at what he does as evidenced by his second Super Bowl appearence in four years but was wrong when he told his fans "They would do it big and see everyone in Dallas." Tomlin's team will be staying in Ft. Worth and playing in Arlington, so it makes you wonder who he will actually see in Dallas.
Numerous people at ESPN have said the Super Bowl is in Dallas as well.
Kudos to Troy Aikman for being the first to actually getting it right yesterday when he said "Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers for heading to Super Bowl 45 in Arlington, Texas."
It is something Aikman had to get right considering he makes his home in The Metroplex and works for Fox, who is broadcasting the NFL's annual roman numeraled affair.
Also give props to native Houstonian Jim Nantz and Phil Simms for getting it right and saying Arlington on the CBS postgame show last night.
It is still 13 days until Super Bowl Sunday so they have time to actually get it right.
